Referral Program Terms
Invite a charity: they get 60 days of Pro, you get a month.
These terms explain who can take part in the Givelayer Referral Program, how rewards are earned and given, and what does not count. They supplement the Givelayer Terms of Service.

1. Overview
The Givelayer Referral Program (the “Program”) lets a charity that uses Givelayer invite another charity. The invited charity receives 60 days of Givelayer Pro. When the invited charity is up and running, the charity that invited it receives one month of Pro.
These Referral Program Terms (the “Referral Terms”) supplement the Givelayer Terms of Service. Words defined in the Terms of Service mean the same here. If the two conflict on the Program, these Referral Terms apply. By sharing an invitation link, or by creating a page through one, the charity agrees to these Referral Terms.
In short
Invite a charity you know. They get 60 days of Pro. You get a month of Pro once three different people have given them at least the qualifying amount and those gifts have stood for 30 days. Rewards are Pro time, never cash.

2. Who can take part
Both charities must be registered charities with a Givelayer page in an eligible country: today the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Givelayer may add or remove countries. A country added without its own rule below uses the stricter rule in section 5.
A reward can only be earned through real donations. Gifts therefore count only in a country where Givelayer accepts donations, which today is the United States. A charity in another eligible country can be invited and take part now; its 60 days of Pro wait, and the count of its gifts starts, on the day donations open in its country.
A charity that is suspended, closed, under review, or that does not meet the Acceptable Use Policy cannot take part while that lasts.

3. How inviting works
- 3.1Each charity has its own invitation link in its Givelayer dashboard. The invited charity must create its page through that link.
- 3.2Each charity can be invited once. The inviter is fixed when the page is created and cannot be added or changed later.
- 3.3A charity that has had a Givelayer page before, including one that was deleted, is not a new charity and does not earn a reward for anyone.
- 3.4Send your link only to people you know, from your own email, phone or social accounts, and in line with the anti-spam laws that apply to you (such as CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada, PECR in the United Kingdom and the Spam Act 2003 in Australia). Givelayer never sends invitations on your behalf. Do not buy or scrape contact lists, post your link where it pretends to be from Givelayer, or bid on Givelayer’s name in search advertising.

4. The invited charity's 60 days of Pro
- 4.1The 60 days are set aside once the invited charity’s page is verified, either against the official charity register or by Givelayer’s review.
- 4.2They start by themselves on the day the charity can accept donations, or earlier if the charity chooses to start them from its dashboard.
- 4.3They must start within six months. While Givelayer does not yet accept donations in the charity’s country, those six months do not run. Days not started in time lapse.
- 4.4A charity that already pays for Pro receives the same value as a credit on its Pro bill instead.
05
5. The inviting charity's month of Pro
The inviting charity earns one month (30 days) of Pro for each invited charity that becomes active. An invited charity becomes active when all of these are true:
- (a)it can accept donations on Givelayer;
- (b)at least three different people have given to it through Givelayer, and their gifts together reach the qualifying amount for its country: US$50 in the United States, CA$70 in Canada, £40 in the United Kingdom, A$75 in Australia;
- (c)30 days have passed since the gift that met (b), and the gifts still stand: a gift that is refunded or disputed in that time no longer counts, and the invite goes back to counting.
Gifts from anyone on either charity’s team do not count. Gifts are counted by email address; we merge obvious variations of the same address and review accounts that look alike. In a country that Givelayer opens for referrals without a rule of its own, the stricter rule applies: five different people, a qualifying amount Givelayer sets for that country, a 60-day hold, and a review by a person before the month is given.
The month is not given while the inviting charity is under a risk review or hold; it waits until the review ends.

6. How Pro time is given
- 6.1Not paying for Pro: the time is added as free Pro that ends by itself. No card is needed, nothing is charged when it ends, and the page simply moves back to Free. Givelayer emails the charity a week before.
- 6.2Already paying for Pro: the time is given as a credit on the charity’s Pro bill, worth the same number of days at its current Pro price.
- 6.3A limit of 12 months: a charity can hold up to 12 months of unused Pro time and credit. A month earned beyond that goes to the invited charity instead.
- 6.4Rewards are Pro time only. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or anything else, cannot be transferred to another charity, and are not payment for any service. Any tax consequence of a reward is the charity’s own.
07
7. What does not count
The Program rewards a real new charity raising real money from other people. Givelayer may check any invite, and may delay, decline, reverse or remove a reward, or end a charity’s participation, where it reasonably believes an invite or a gift is not genuine. That includes:
- •inviting a charity owned or run by the same person, which voids the invite;
- •charities that share team members, which a person reviews before any reward;
- •many invites qualifying at once, which a person reviews before any reward;
- •gifts made by, or funded by, either charity or its team, or made to meet the rule and then refunded or disputed;
- •anything that breaks the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Pro time already used is not charged for afterwards, except where a reward was obtained by fraud.

8. What each charity sees
The invited charity sees who invited it. When it creates its page it can agree that the inviter may see how far along it is (for example “page verified” or “ready to fundraise”). The inviter never sees the invited charity’s donors, their names or any amounts.
Givelayer emails a charity about the Program only at a few moments that concern its own plan: when its Pro starts, a week before free Pro ends, when a charity it invited joins, and when it earns a month. Everything else is shown in the dashboard. How Givelayer handles personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy.
09
9. Supporter share links
Donors can share a link to a charity they gave to, and may see how many people gave through it. Donors receive no reward, money or Pro time for sharing. The count shows different people only, never their names or amounts, and is private unless the donor chooses to show it on their public profile.
10
10. Changes and ending the Program
Givelayer may change these Referral Terms, or pause or end the Program, with notice in the dashboard or by email. A change applies to invites made after it takes effect. Pro time already given stays, and rewards already earned under the earlier terms are honoured, unless section 7 applies.
